Getting Started

BotCollector is a free platform for discovering, tracking, and cataloging your action figure collection. Here's everything you need to know to get started.

Creating an Account

You can sign up with an email and password or use Google for one-click registration. During signup you'll choose a username — this becomes your public profile URL (e.g. /u/your-name).

If you sign up with email, check your inbox for a confirmation link. You'll need to verify your email before you can sign in.

Browsing Without an Account

You don't need an account to explore. Anyone can:

• Browse the full figure database
• Search for figures by name
• Explore brands, series, and figure details
• View public profiles and collections
• Filter and sort figures

What You Can Do With an Account

Signing up unlocks the full collector experience:

• Track your collection — mark figures as collected with one click
• Build a wishlist — keep a list of figures you're hunting for
• Organize with collections — group figures however you like
• Add detailed notes — record condition, purchase price, retailer, and more
• Write reviews — share your thoughts on figures
• Contribute figures — help grow the database by submitting new entries
• Share your profile — show off your collection publicly

Recommended First Steps

1. Browse a brand — head to the Brands page and pick a line you collect.
2. Find a figure — use the search bar (⌘K on desktop) or browse the Figures page.
3. Start collecting — click the Collect button on any figure to add it to your collection.
4. Set up your profile — visit Profile Settings to add a bio and avatar.

Light & Dark Mode

BotCollector supports light and dark themes. Use the theme toggle in the top navigation bar to switch between them. Your preference is saved automatically.
